although solid state amps

Amps with more effects are less common and more expensive. In my opinion, I’d prefer separate effects unit(s) asthis provides more flexibility if I decide to change my chorus unit then I change just that no need to change my entire amp.A tube amp uses vacuum tubes (also known as valves) rather than transistors. There is a school of thought that these provide a better overdriven sound, although solid state amps (transistor based) have come on a lot in recent years and the better models can offer a sound very much like a tube amp.In terms of personal preference, I’m a big fan of Peavey amps (for both sound and build quality), but at the end of the day a lot of it comes down to personal preference..
